I love Shiseido, they are one of my favourite high end brands, and when I heard they were releasing a new foundation.. I was insanely excited. I love foundations and am always on the hunt for one that works with my skin. I was sent this product for consideration, and here is my review of the Shiseido Synchro Skin foundation.
This foundation started off on a high note when I opened the box to see a beautiful frosted glass bottle, with a black lid and a pump dispenser.. ahh perfection! I didn’t look at the price of this product until after I had decided if I liked it or not, but from the feel of the bottle, I thought it was going to be a similar price to YSL foundations. So I was surprised to find out that it was only $69.00 (NZD) the same price as my Nars Sheer glow.
The consistency of the foundation is quite thin, and will easily run down the back of your hand if it’s on an angle (so beware). It comes in a range of colours, and that’s always a benefit and and I know a few fair skinned ladies have been really impressed with the lighter shades in this range.
I don’t mean to be dramatic, but I am in love with this foundation! I seriously think it has moved Nars Sheer glow off its top perch. It’s lightweight, oil free, build-able and it lasts all day. The foundation does mattify but it looks natural and not cakey like a lot of other foundations . This is honestly the first matte foundation that I have ever liked. Did I also mention its SPF20? Perfect!
I apply it in the morning, and it lasts at least 8 hours . After 10 hours, it’s still on my face, but it does start wearing off, and clinging to the drier spots on my face.. but only at the end of the day. It also does crease a little towards the end of the day around my smile lines, but it can easily be touched up by patting the area so I’m impressed.
Here is a photo of me wearing mostly Shiseido products, including the Synchro Skin Foundation, Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer, Shiseido Full Lash Volume Mascara, Shiseido Camellia palette used for eye shadow, blush and highlighter and Shiseido Veiled Rouge in RD315 on my lips.(excl. eyeliner, brow, bronzer and facial mist which I don’t own from Shiseido at this stage). They have an awesome GWP at the moment which I would love to get so hoping I can make it into store in time and stock up on some more products from their range).
I made the mistake of getting this foundation a shade or two lighter because I forgot my skin had a summer tan so the product isn’t the right colour for my summer skin, but it will be a perfect match for my winter skin (which isn’t too far away). I truly think everyone should go and get a sample of this. I am so impressed.
So have you heard about this foundation or are you interested in trying it out? Let me know down below x x
